Crackers Comedy Broad Ripple Welcomes Michael Palascak

Crackers is very excited to bring you headliner, Michael Palascak! Beginning Wednesday Oct 23 – Saturday, Oct 26, Michael will be bringing down the house alongside Mark Matusof and Matt Bachus. And as always, all shows are 18 and up.

After moving around the Midwest during his early years, Michael Palascak (Pal-a-sack) ended up in Wabash, Indiana– “The First Electrically Lighted City in the World.” He spent his formative years there, and then, after college, moved to Chicago to pursue a career in comedy and living at home with his parents.

In the last three years, Michael debuted on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He also performed at The TBS LOL Lounge in the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Chicago. He also has performed at Caesar’s Palace in The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas and was the winner of HBO’s Lucky 21 Stand-up Contest. He won the Chicago region of Comedy Central’s Open Mic Fight and went on to make his Comedy Central debut on Live at Gotham Season 3. Last year, he was selected as one of 12 comedians in America and internationally to debut his half hour special on the inaugural season of Comedy Central’s The Half Hour.

Desiring to perform all forms of comedy, Michael took sketch and improv classes at The Second City in Chicago, iO, and Annoyance. In Chicago, Michael debuted his one-person sketch show–Pursuing Happiness: A bunch of scenes about people that moved out of their parents’ house, got a real job and got married. Performed by a guy who didn’t.

Michael connects to the youthful innocence in everyone as he relates his stories onstage. From becoming an uncle to going down water slides, Michael’s stories allow everyone to laugh a lot.

Michael made his television debut on WGN—The Bozo Show, Age 9, Large Boot Relay Team Blue (Runner-up).

Michael is hilarious! Get your tickets here!

Crackers Comedy in Broad Ripple is so excited to have Roy Wood Jr. of TBS’s hit sitcom, ‘Sullivan & Son,’ joining us this week from Wednesday though Saturday, Oct 16 – Oct 19. Joining Roy will be feature act Nate Abshire and opener Matt Clemens.

Though he can currently be seen on the TBS sitcom ‘Sullivan & Son,’ Roy’s journey did not start there. Named by Entertainment Weekly as one of 12 comics to watch in 2009, Roy has been featured on the new season of CBS’ THE LATE SHOW w/ David Letterman, HBO’s DEF COMEDY JAM, TV One’s ‘The Funny Spot w/ Tony Rock’, BBC’s THE WORLD STANDS UP- LONDON, CBS’ LATE LATE SHOW w/ Craig Ferguson, NBC’s Last Comic Standing, and Comedy Central’s BOB & TOM COMEDY TOUR. Hailing from Birmingham, AL, Roy’s creative writing and dedicated work ethic has since earned him the right to perform his comedy in front of millions of people coast to coast.

The Montreal Gazette called Roy’s 2006 festival performance on the ‘New Faces’ show “tremendous” and the Hollywood Reporter called Roy a “standout”. Roy has also appeared on ‘COMEDY CENTRAL’S PREMIUM BLEND’, BET’s COMIC VIEW, CBS’ STAR SEARCH (2003) , ‘IT’S SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO’ and LIVE IN HOLLYWOOD w/ KIKI SHEPPARD’.

Steering clear of predictable topics and premises, Roy delivers comedy that gives an honest look at not only his life, but the world in which we live. The universal appeal of his comedy crosses all race and cultural lines which is why he has opened for an array of comedians ranging from D.L. Hughley, Ron White, Monique, Tommy Davidson, Bill Engvall, and Katt Williams.

A two-time nominee for APCA’s title of ‘Comedian of the Year,’ Roy works numerous college and university appearances into his schedule every year as well. Roy has also carved a niche for himself in the world of radio.

After graduating from Florida A&M University in 2001 he served as head writer and producer of the Buckwilde Morning Show WBHJ 95.7 JAMZ– Birmingham, AL until 2007. He has since returned to that very same station to host his own morning show ‘The Roy Wood Jr Show: Good Morning.’ He is also a regular guest on the ‘Bob & Tom Radio Show, a syndicated morning show heard by more than six million people every morning. His hilarious prank phone calls are also carried in almost 50 different radio markets including stations in Canada and England. In addition to terrestrial radio, his prank calls are a main stay on Jaime Foxx’s ‘Foxxhole Station’ on SIRIUS Satellite Radio. These same prank calls have been compiled into three nationally released CD’s. 2003′s ‘MY MOMMA MADE ME WEAR THIS’ , 2005′s ‘CONFESSIONS OF A HIGH SCHOOL BENCH WARMER’ and his newest CD, “I’LL SLAP YOU TO SLEEP.”

Check him out when he was here last year and then snatch up your tickets as soon as you can. It’s going to be a heckuva week.
