Crackers Comedy Downtown Welcomes Ryan Singer

Crackers Comedy Club Downtown is excited to present comedian, Ryan Singer, from Thursday October 30 – Saturday November 2. It’s going to be a great show!

Ryan Singer is the rarest of breeds: A comic’s comic who electrifies mainstream audiences with material that is both uncompromising and unpretentious. He recently released his 2nd album COMEDY WONDER TOWN, which was selected by Under The Gun as a Top 10 album of 2012. LaughSpin says, “With his high-energy delivery and unpretentious leanings, there’s not a lot to dislike about comedian Ryan Singer. And it’s not just us saying it: In the last few years, he’s won over audiences headlining the nation’s finer comedy clubs and was hailed by Marc Maron in Rolling Stone as a comedian “who should be big.”brand new payday loans online

His debut album, HOW TO GET HIGH WITHOUT DRUGS, is an intense exercise in wordplay, improvisation, and storytelling recorded at Go Bananas Comedy Club in Cincinnati, OH. Those who enter Singer’s world will be rewarded with knowledge of the connections between dimwitted hunters and Tyra Banks, cookies and racial tension, and even gay marriage and dragons, courtesy of a comedian who expertly connects insanity and brilliance.

Ryan was recently mentioned in Rolling Stone magazine by Marc Maron as a comedian “Who Should Be Big” and both his debut album and sophomore release were selected as Top 10 Comedy CD’s of the year. He was mentioned in NY Magazine as a “Comic to Watch,” he was one of 4 finalist in CMT’s Next Big Comic Contest, is a frequent guest on the WTF Podcast w/Marc Maron, been heard on XM/Sirius Satellite Radio, has appeared on the nationally syndicated radio show Bob & Tom, and was a regional finalist in Comedy Central’s Open Mic Fight. He was the winner of the Golden Shingle Award at the Rooftop Comedy Festival, an award given to the next rising star in comedy.

Crackers Downtown Welcomes Ryan Dalton

Who ever said people with A.D.D. should be medicated? Ryan can’t remember. But whoever said it was wrong! No meds required. Just give him a stage, a mic and you’ve got a comic with an erratic style and constantly fresh material.

Join Crackers Comedy Downtown this week from Wednesday September 4 – Saturday September 7 as we enjoy the humor of comedian Ryan Dalton.

Ryan Dalton is a homegrown Cleveland favorite. Ryan attended the prestigious Kent State University. After college, Ryan went on to hold part-time jobs in such world-renowned trades as food service, retail, and coffee distribution. Finally, Ryan sunk his teeth into the most honest profession in the world, car sales. This dream occupation was not enough for him. Ryan hungered for the taste of stand up comedy, and on a dare, took the stage in Nanuet, NY in 1998. This experience started a hunger for the constant approval from crowds of complete stangers. His thirst would never be quenched!

Ryan soon discovered the entertainment industry where a basic lack of knowledge on any subject is not only necessary, but also embraced. He uses stand-up as a device in which he pokes fun at controversy and the “everyday personal injustices” that are dealt with by the common man, sorry, person, whatever!

Ryan is a comedian that wants everyone to just relax. His lovable sarcasm and smart, conversational style makes for a broadly appealing show.

Ryan’s comedy has led him to regular appearances in the country’s best comedy clubs. He is a regular the nationally syndicated “Bob and Tom Radio Show.” His first comedy album “You Were Funny Too” is on rotation on Sirius XM’s “RawDog” comedy channel. Ryan has been recognized as one of MySpace’s “Featured Comedians.” In 2011 Ryan made his first USO tour of Qatar and Afghanistan. Ryan made his television debut on the third season of Comedy Central’s “LIVE AT GOTHAM.” He also wrote for Comedy Central’s “Roast of Charlie Sheen” in 2011. Just recently Ryan took the grand prize at the 2011 World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas and finished as a finalist in the 2011 Boston Comedy Festival.

Ryan’s got some great material that you do not want to miss. Joining Dalton is feature act Pete Davidson and opener, Jordan Mather-Licth Grab your tickets here!

Crackers Downtown Presents Keith McGill

Hey Indy! We’re excited to present Keith McGill at Downtown Crackers from Wednesday July 24 – Saturday July 27.

What kind of comic is Keith? Well, he’s the guy you want to sit next to at a boring meeting. He’s clever, insightful, and a little bit eye-opening. His comedy is truth with a twist. Indy’s NUVO said, “Keith McGill has a style that is smooth and temperate, and lacks any gaudy gimmicks or catch phrases, making him one of the best standup acts within earshot… His material is positive and PG-13, yet still intelligently critical of the comical absurdities [of life]…The Louisville native is impossible not to like.” As well as being popular internationally on Royal Caribbean Cruises, Keith has appeared on BET and CMT, and is a Bob and Tom Show favorite, as well as a much sought-after entertainer for corporate events. A sample of his comedy:

“The Economy”
The economy is getting better, but the media isn’t saying very much about it. They like it when the news is bad. When the stocks were dropping, that was all they could talk about. “Oh, my God, your stocks are going down! Watch your stocks! Watch your stocks!” I was like, I should be watching my stocks. Then I realized–I don’t have any stocks! I was broke when the meltdown started; I’ll be broke when it’s over. My portfolio is stable. I’m not waiting for my 401(K) to come back–I don’t have one. My 401(K) is a Powerball ticket. My retirement plan is a slippery floor at WalMart.

Another sample of his comedy:

Keith will be performing at our downtown location with the EXCEPTION of Thursday night. He will be performing for a private benefit in Broad Ripple on Thursday night, and Tone Bell will be performing downtown. Get your tickets here.

JeremyEssig

Crackers Downtown Presents Jeremy Essig and Michael Paramore

The fantastic comedy of Jeremy Essig and Michael Paramore will be all over our Downtown Stage from Wednesday July 17 through Saturday July 20.

Jeremy Essig is the former bass player and guitarist for late-90’s (way) underground bands Box of Rocks and The Flaming Moes.

To many, however, Jeremy is best known as a stand-up comedian and writer. His comedy, described in NUVO magazine as “Intelligent Cynicism,” walks the line between “smart” comedy and mindless indulgence. In a matter of minutes, Essig can move seamlessly between current events and kitchen appliances, weaving the two together with a nod to his love of pop culture.

Essig has released three comedy albums that have appeared on XM/Sirius Satellite Radio as well as on his own Pandora Channel. He has also appeared more than fifteen times on the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom radio show as well as multiple times on National Public Radio.

An accomplished writer, Essig has also had pieces appear in the Columbia Missourian, Riverfront Times and Louisville’s Leo. A graduate of Wake Forest University and Ohio native, Essig moved to St. Louis in 2004 where he became a fixture in the city’s thriving comedy scene.

St. Louis Magazine dubbed him a “comic to watch” and KDHX’s “Slip of the Disc” radio show featured his segment “Six Degrees of Tommy Stinson,” a celebration of Essig’s love of music and trivia.

Comedian Mike Paramore has been cracking jokes since grade school. But he’s come a long way since his class clown days in his home town of Cleveland, Ohio. Having started in the church and gaining experience working through the Mid-West amateur comedy circuit since 2007, Mike has performed and competed in various venues; including being runner up in the Columbus FunnyBone ‘Funniest Person in Columbus’ 2007 contests, a finalist in the Go Bananas competition and named Mountain Dew comedian of the week in 2008.

Being a former featured comic for Time Warner Cable OnDemand, Mike was bitten by the action bug as an actor of the annual play ‘Hell Bound’. Using that natural style comedy afforded Mike the opportunity to opening for Comedians like Earthquake, Conon writer Deon Cole, Damon Williams, and Comedy Central’s Kyle Grooms and Steve Byrne.

In addition to performing at the 2010 Stellar Awards Mike was also a part of the 2012 Just For Laughs Festival in Chicago. As Senior Artistic Director of Good Jokes Live! Comedy & Improv – a complete show featuring a stable of comedian, improv and sketch comedy, since 2007; Mike also is currently expanding the sources of laughter through working as Comedic Director for vesselvibemag.com – an online urban Christian culture and lifestyle publication.

This week is going to be great. Snatch up your tickets here.

He has appeared multiple times on the nationally syndicated radio show, The Bob & Tom Show. You may have seen Jeff on the Comcast Cable network as well as The WB.

Jeff’s style is so relatable you will feel you know him. Being the youngest in his family has prepared him for a life of comedy. His animated and goofy demeanor combined with edgy quips covering his dating life, working out, his favorite food of cheese sticks, and the fact that he could never be on “Survivor” makes for some great laughs for anyone watching his show.

Jeff has been fortunate to be able to bring is comedy stylings to the comedy festivals: The World Series of Comedy, Laugh Your Asheville Off and was also invited to perform at the Cape Fear Comedy Festival. Check him out.
