Crackers Comedy Club Downtown is excited to present Daniel Sloss from Wednesday 12/11 – Saturday 12/14.
Scotland’s half-man-half-Xbox, hormone-ridden comic prodigy is currently one of the fastest rising stars of UK comedy. He started doing stand-up aged 16 and appeared on ‘Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow’; ‘8/10 Cats’; ‘Jason Manford’s Comedy Rocks’; ‘Rob Brydon Show’; ‘Comic Relief’s ‘Mock the Week’; ‘Paul O’Grady Show’ as well as starring in his own BBC show ‘The Adventures of Daniel’ and selling out three Fringe seasons in 2008-2010 – all before he started to shave. His October 2009 debut in London’s Soho Theatre made him the youngest stand-up ever to perform a solo season in the West End and he has performed in Europe, Australia and South East Asia. Winner 2011’s Scottish Variety Award – Best New Comedian.

Working the road nonstop since his 21st birthday, Dave Landau has grown into a true comedic juggernaut. Finding himself much in-demand among audiences and club owners due to his deadpan demeanor and those jokes — my God, those jokes — that fluidly fly forth with breakneck pacing and perfect timing. Dave, it can be said with all due respect, is a throwback to another era of comedy. The entertaining everyman. Innocent enough at first blush; as he states his case, you begin to see where you and he have quite a bit in common. A wife, a house. An odd sense of calm in an increasingly crazy world. You’re on a tour of the familiar and prosaic, with Dave Landau as the bus driver.
Then he drops his foot on the accelerator. And things start to get wild. You see, Dave Landau might appear to be just like you, but he’s not really. His mind goes to places that angels would fear to tread, and he has no problem telling you about it. The mark of a great comedian, it is said, is the ability to find jokes where others would find tears. Dave find jokes everywhere; with his own foibles and faults, to his family, to pop culture and the state of the world today.
Cutting his comedic teeth as a teenager in Detroit in the Second City’s Conservatory, Dave Landau has risen to become one of the most in-demand headliners working today. He’s appeared on Comedy Central’s “Live At Gotham” as well as being featured prominently on two consecutive seasons of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.” He’s become a regular on the nationally-syndicated “Bob & Tom” radio show, and was honored as one of the top 21 club comics of today at HBO’s Las Vegas Comedy Festival.
In the last five years, Dan Cummins has released two critically and commercially successful CDs on Warner Brothers Records, Revenge is Near, and Crazy with Capital F, both debuting in the top 10 of the Billboard Comedy Charts, and both making numerous year end top 10 lists, including Itunes Rewind’s Best Comedy CDs of 2010.
He’s also toured relentlessly, bringing his jokes to over 200 colleges, clubs, theaters, and the world’s most prestigious comedy festivals, including two trips to the Montreal Comedy Festival. In addition to headlining live shows from Maine to Alaska, Dan’s also made numerous televised stand-up appearances, including performances on The Tonight Show, The Late, Late Show, Last Comic Standing, and numerous Comedy Central programs, including both a half-hour special, Comedy Central Presents Dan Cummins, and an hour-long comedy special, Crazy with a Capital F. One of the most prolific writers on the national scene, Dan continues to craft new jokes and stories, and bring them to countless audiences in his quest to build a fan base large enough to pack clubs and theaters in whatever town he chooses to travel to, just to hear whatever he has to say. So do yourself a favor, and start listening.
“Revenge is Near announces the presence of a distinct voice in comedy. That’s not an easy thing to do right of the gate, but it’s the reason Cummins’ belongs alongside the other comics on this list.” – Patrick Bromley, from About.com’s “The Best Debut Comedy Albums of 2009″
“We love Dan Cummins, plain and simple. Crazy with a Capital F (is) another smart, endearing, and sarcastic soaked set.” – Punchline Magazine.com’s “The 10 Must Have Stand-up DVDs from 2010″
“Cummins’ comedy runs more on bizarre than classical, more on oddity than traditional comedy. And thank goodness for that — good comedy thrives on the new, on the fresh. Too many comedians, after all, articulate what “everybody else is thinking.” Cummins says what nobody else but him is thinking.” – The Inlander’s review of Crazy with a Capital F, by Daniel Walters
“Here’s why we dig Dan Cummins: We’ve seen a table full of Blue-Collar-Comedy fans elbow to elbow with college-aged hipsters and all of them were doubled over in laughter at the same Cummins bit. That’s not always easy to do. The fact is, Cummins smartly writes to a broad audience, but his own intelligence and cleverness never gets lost in the mix. As a result, comedy nerds can still geek out on subject matter or how a phrase is turned. Top it all off with a giant dollop of unassuming likability. We say it’s a win.” – Lastgascomedy.com

Crackers Comedy in Broad Ripple is stoked to have Kevin Bozeman joining us from Wednesday November 20 – Saturday November 23. Patrick Keane will be alongside with Bradley Scott. We can’t wait!
As far as Bozeman – It was 1999, six years after finishing his collegiate basketball career at Division III Whitewater College, and bouncing around jobs that Kevin found himself in the real world with no real job skills and a strong desire to work an hour a day. What to do? Inspired by nights on the couch watching Def Comedy Jam and challenged by his roommate, Kevin decided to head over to nearby Madison, WI and try the “Open-Mic Night”. “I always was the guy who could make people laugh, and lets be honest I had nothing better going on”.
Thirteen years later Kevin is still going on-stage, and he has found the job that fit his requirements. “For an hour a night I’m wildly successful”. With a smooth and clever style, a great smile and a contagious laugh Kevin has been entertaining in clubs and colleges across the country. In 2000 he was the winner of the Midwest region of the HBO “Comedy Competition” and flew to Los Angeles to compete as a finalist. He performed on Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend” in 2003, and finished 2nd in the Boston Comedy Competition in 2005. He was a semi-finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in 2010. This past summer he co-starred in the Indie film “Flat Chested” starring Alicia Witt and Luke Perry.
He currently resides in Chicago. Check out his comedy!
Crackers Comedy Club Downtown is stoked to have Mark Normand headlining our downtown club from Wednesday November 20 – Saturday November 23 alongside feature comedian, Jeff Bodart and opener, Matt Bachus.
Mark Normand is a fun comedian from New York. So far in 2013, Mark has appeared on TBS’s CONAN, Comedy Central’s INSIDE AMY SCHUMER, MTVx’s INSIDE JOKE, and has won Caroline’s March Madness competition, beating out 63 other comedians.
In 2012, Mark appeared on “John Oliver’s New York Standup Show” on Comedy Central, and taped the pilot of “Best Week Ever” for Vh1. He also appeared on the most recent season of “Last Comic Standing” for NBC. Mark is also an accomplished writer, with recent shorts appearing on sites such as MSN and The Huffington Post.
Mark was born and raised in New Orleans, LA surprisingly to two normal parents. As a kid he spent most of his time shooting short films and wetting the bed. Mark started doing comedy right after college and quickly moved to New York. Mark now does comedy clubs and colleges across the country and has been involved in many festivals including Portland, Seattle, DC, Boston, and was featured at the Montreal Comedy Festival.
Mark now runs two comedy shows in NYC, one of which is recorded for a popular podcast called ‘We’re all Friends Here’ on Breakthruradio.com; the other “Hot Soup” runs at Ella Lounge in the east village.
Mark was named one of Comedy Central’s Comics To Watch for the 2011 New York Comedy Festival. Mark was also named to Esquire’s “Best New Comedians 2012”, Splitsider’s “Top 10 Up and Coming Comedians on Each Coast”, and Time Out New York’s “21 New York Comedy Scene Linchpins”.
Crackers Downtown is stoked to have comedian, Pat Dixon, with us from Wednesday, November 6 – Saturday, November 9 alongside Indy’s own, Jeff Oskay!
Audiences across the country have enjoyed Pat Dixon’s fluid stage manner, dry delivery and boldly creative material. Recognized as a top-notch writer and engaging performer, Dixon combines a conversational style with tight, punchy material, all fueled by a uniquely off-kilter comedic sensibility which makes him not only funny but fun to watch.
Pat has appeared on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and reached a new audience on CMT as host of their “Summer Games.” Pat has also appeared numerous times on the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom radio show, and is also heard every friday by hundreds of thousands of loyal listeners who tune in for his call-in movie reviews, which can be heard on various stations across the U.S.
We can’t wait to welcome comedian, Chad Daniels, to our stage from Wednesday November 6 – Saturday November 9. Performing alongside will be feature act, Chris Hedegus and opener, Brent Terhune.
Here’s Chad Daniels’ (auto)bio:
This is more of an AutoBio than a Bio. The truth is most comedians write their own bios. I’m not judging. It’s a lot easier to brag about one’s own accomplishments while hiding behind third person. They are very well written. It seems comedians either 1. Have a Masters in English, or 2. A Thesaurus, and a lot of free time. I have neither.
I could write things like: Chad’s devilishly naughty nature shines through like comedy gold when he takes the stage. Chad’s disarming personality allows him to push boundaries only the truly funny attempt. His edgy style usually begins by splitting the room into two equally stunned fractions and then miraculously ends up with everyone leaving the club with a new favorite comedian. But that’s lame. Or I could write: Plenty of comics have jokes about marriage and children, but few speak about the experience with such uncompromising honesty. “Babies are miracles. Think about it.
When they’re born their feet are tiny. Yet, they can somehow step on all your hopes and dreams.” It’s this acidic material, cut with underlying sweetness and served up with a knowing smirk, that perfectly encapsulates Daniels’s take-no-prisoners style of comedy. Even though he was born and raised there he’s not interested in Minnesota Nice. With his onstage swagger and arsenal of incisive, uproarious material, he practically bullies the audience into loving him. Sounds awesome, but that’s not how I talk.
The truth is I’d rather you come see me to check it out for yourself. To get you to the club I’ll tell you this.
In 2004 I performed in the New Faces show at the prestigious Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. I’ve been on the Late Late show on CBS with Craig Kilbourn and Craig Ferguson. In 2006 I was on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham. I have three CDs. “Two Minutes for Stale Hacking” which was self-produced, “Busy Being Awesome” and my latest “You’re the Best” both on Stand-up! Records. I was named “Artist of the Year” in comedy by City Pages in 2009. I’ve been seen numerous times on “The Bob and Tom Television program”. I performed at the Aspen Comedy Festival for Rooftop Comedy and was given the award Comic’s Comic. I have a half hour special called Comedy Central Presents… Chad Daniels, which was voted #5 of all time in 2010. I am one of 13 comedians that have the honor to say they were on the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. I was invited back to the Just for laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal to perform in The Masters Show. In 2012, I won the Gilda’s Laughfest Competition, performed on Conan’s new show, and released a free one hour special called “As Is” on the internet.
I’m funny. If you’re still not willing to come to a show you’re just being difficult.
Chad IS funny! Check out his comedy and then get your tickets here! He won’t disappoint!
